Railz provides a single API that integrates with the majority of accounting service providers used by small and medium-sized businesses, and enables on-demand access to financial transactions, reports, analytics, and insights on those businesses.
To use Railz, our setup requires both a client-side and a server-side component - a.k.a front-end and back-end. These docs will focus on helping you build those components.
The first part is Railz Connect™. It is a plug-and-play module that lives within your front-end application and allows your users to provide explicit and informed consent to authorize secure access to their accounting service provider(s). The design and user flow can be customized, depending on your use-case and brand experience.
The second part is a series of back-end API calls (Railz Core™) to retrieve the data you need from a business' accounting service provider(s) once you have been authorized.
Custom API Integration
Some of our customers will opt to complete a full custom API integration rather than use Railz Connect™ on the front end using our Railz API Reference. While this can provide you with more control over the UX, it does require more time and more complex development efforts. Feel free to speak to us before diving in!
