# Security

Learn how we protect your Accounting Data as a Service™ account and data

At Accounting Data as a Service™, security is by design:

* Accounting Data as a Service™'s data centers deploy the latest in hardware and software security best practices.
* Communication with all Accounting Data as a Service™ products requires TLS 1.2 or higher.
* Accounting Data as a Service™ maintains SOC2 compliance certifications.
* Accounting Data as a Service™ employs bank-grade encryption for PII, data-in-transit, and data-at-rest.

## Password Resets

If you forget your password, follow these steps to reset it:

1. **Go to the login page** and enter your email address.
2. On the next screen, click **"Trouble Signing In"** and select **"I forgot my password."**
3. A password reset email will be sent to your verified Accounting Data as a Service™ email address.

<br />

> ❗️ Important
>
> You must verify your email address to receive the reset email.

If your email address is unverified, search your email for a message from <noreply@notify.railz.ai> with the subject line **"Verify your email to start using Accounting Data as a Service™".** Click the verification link in that email. Once verified, you'll be able to reset your password.

## Two-factor Authentication

Enabling two-factor authentication via Accounting Data as a Service™ is now **deprecated**.

Instead, **app-based two-factor authentication for your account is automatically enabled** as part of the authentication flow. You’ll be prompted to set it up during sign-up—just follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup and use it going forward. You will be asked to enter an authentication code each time you sign in.

## Rotating Keys

If your secret is ever compromised, you should rotate it from the API Keys section of the [Dashboard](https://dashboard.railz.ai/). Clicking the **Generate API Keys** button will generate a new secret, which you can then copy and test. The old secret will become inactive.
